My car would rattle and shake everytime I turned right. It was getting to be where I was scared to drive my car. I needed a new clutch to; So yesterday my dad changed the axles, cv joints (old one just fell apart), and clutch. We thought this would fix my problem... but it got worse.

He drove it home last night and said now it shakes even going straight. Even worse turning right but smooth turning left. We checked the front driver side wheel bearing and it looked ok. We checked the passenger rear and it was fine. Still made the noise.

Finally I took both front coilovers off and the left was lower than the right. I made them even and now it doesn't do it near as bad. So does this mean I can't go as low anymore? It only would shake on one side.

I am at 23in (front) and 22in (rear)

Has anyone else (as low as me) had this problem with cv joints? I really want to be at least 22.5 in the front but my cv joints won't allow it. I KNOW others on here are lower than me and I don't understand why my car is giving me hell!!

Please Help Me Out Guys! :squintrun:

Re: being slammed is causing me a problem

Raise the car and move/shake it at the wheel from 3 to 9 and 6 to 12 with your dad and see what is loose.....but I wouldn't be surprise if its your tie rods

We've tried shaking the wheel to feel any movement and nothing budges.
Actually the rear pasenger did but that turned out to be my camber kit wasn't on tight :O

It could be the tie rod because the steering wheel shakes rapidly too. I am not to mechanically advanced though. that's why I need your help.

Didn't you say one coilover was higher than the other when you took them off? Maybe you would be okay if you are lower, but both sides are at the same height?

I don't think so because it still does it a little bit and they are completely even on both sides. I might try that this weekend to see. Thanks.

Any other ideas? Maybe the midshaft?

im at 21.5 in the front on 55 series tires... and havent once had a problem like this. altough i do go through axles kinda fast.

all your ball joints are good? your power steering pump got fuild in it and isnt leaking out anywhere? is your power steering rack going bad? idk those are things i could think of that might cause the problem.

so its not the ball joints, the axles, or the coils themselves... control arm? does the lower one on that side look okay? are your calipers tightened all the way? it could be something simple since its a one sided deal.

I'll check my PS fluid this weekend as well to see if anything shows to be low. How do I check if the rack might be bad?

I'm pretty sure the control arm is ok but I'll check that too.

Mainly I need ideas to check for whenever I jack the whole car up again this weekend. I want this all fixed before I.A. because it feels so sketchy to drive. :/

What do the tires look like? My car would shake similar to what youre describing but it ended up being the inner tires were cupped pretty bad but the whole rest was pretty meaty. Couldn't tell from the outside. But I'm sure you had the alignment taken care of.
