Weight reduction. Getting ready for track next month
Use some saran wrap, that stuff weighs next to nothing. Or you could always just wear some goggles when driving. Take out the rest of the windows and the air will just flow right through!
I was thinking about adding an air intake for my stock engine, but after reading this:
I'm not really counting on the hp gain, even if K&N site says: "Our automotive OE (original equipment) replacement air filters generally add 1-4 horsepower".
This is just for the sake of maintaining clean air into the engine & its stock sound. Perhaps a little better MPG is a plus. If I get a placebo effect on a feeling of a couple of horses moving my car, that'll be another +1. (Or, am I being too vigorless about this?)

I ordered a K&N High Performance Drop-in Air Filter.

An air intake on a stock engine is great...for the sound.
Buying the K&N drop-in filter with the idea that it'll save you money in the long run...is true up to a limit. The k&n drop in filters can be had for about 40-55$ shipped. The paper filters can be had for 5-7$. So for you to break even you'd need to have used the k&n filter for at least ~6/7 years assuming one changes the air filter once a year. But don't forget the cleaning/oiling solution you'll have to buy...so add another 10-15$.
If you're buying it for cleaner air/more HP...personally I don't think it makes a difference but to each their own. In my homemade test using a shop vac for suction, fine sand as a dirt/dust particle and using an oiled cone k&n filter and a generic cone filter(covered with two layers of pantyhose)...both did not let any visible dirt particles through after 1hr of use. I used a cotton membrane(white) layer in front of the suction hose to catch possible dirt particles.

The reason why I'm going w/ K&N's is because my Bosch filter is about the time to be replaced, and I always wanted to try K&N's. (Haven't heard any bad things about them either.) I'm not reallly thinking about saving money on the cost of filter replacements by K&N, but that's a nice calculation / assumption to break even the cost--thanks for mentioning, and I'll wash it w/ the kit when the time comes.
Sounds like a nice custom work done to yours. (I read something about having pantyhose on our enginebay, and I was like WTF? But this is what it was all about lol.)
I just like to make / keep my car quiet & comfortable.←Idk why, but I'm too sensitive to loundness and noises... If you see my MR thread, you'll know how anal i am. (I feel like I'm the only person in 6GA who thought about eliminating the sound of a key chain hitting the key ignition fringe lol.)

I learned the massive pitfall, of What I never worried about in Florida
My Hid Retro, And my LED bulbs don't melt ice !!! damn low heat!!! I had to wipe my lamps too..

Washed and waxed .
Took off the front mud guards because they are scraping everywhere .. but might put them back on because it looks a bit funny without them on the front ..
Also put a zip tie here (above rear mud guard) as I'm missing that bolt/screw that originally goes there on both sides .

I going to pick up the parts to do the coupe front end conversion
Can someone correct me real quick? I will need..
Fenders (L&R) - not unless you are doing the custom work to make them fit
Front Bumper - yes
Grill - only if you are using a 98-00 Coupe bumper
Hood? - yes
You'll also need the bumper retainer for the Coupe as well.
New Mugen Lip..

As for me, Saturday, picked up a set of used rear calipers from a local scrapyard and did the rotors/pads/calipers(with the help of my cousin) on the wife's TL.
