I started the car today and as I shifted down to D4, I noticed the box around the D4 in the cluster did not light up. All the other gears illuminated. For the past 2 months, I've been daily driving on D3 (all city mileage). And as I change gears from a stand still, I always let each gear engage before proceeding to shift again until I reach the designated gear. When I drove a bit with D4 earlier, it seemed to be fine and it didn't sputter or anything.

Could it be that the light has simply just died or is it a sign of something more serious? :skurred:

It is a rebuilt tranny and it's been driving fine for its entire 35,xxx miles so far.

the only thing that is a bad sign that i know of is when the D4 light blinks.. which is a tranny problem.. with it being out and working and shifting fine. i would think the light or wiring has went out if everything is running right! thats just my thought!

P.S= how is that rebuilt tranny doing for you.. (mines being done right now, wont get it back until tuesday) :icon_toilet:

Its probably a burnt d4 bulb, when i bought my accord in 2007 mine burned within 2 weeks of owning it lol...i'd get it replaced though simply for the fact as the bulb does more then simply provide brightness though.

its most likely burnt i had to change my moms d4 light on her 00 accord v6.if it was blinking most likely like mine did was go into limp mode when d4 was blinking and wouldn't switch gears.
