NIIICE! What did you use to get it from clean/shiny to mirrored/reflective?

I spy in the first picture ..left of exhaust meguiars metal polish that creates a mirror finish.

Looks great btw!

Yep, meguiars metal polish. I have to say.. it doesn't work that effectively. I want to try the mothers or autosol metal polish..

From the clean/shiny exhaust to mirror finish i used 600, 800, 1500 and 2000.
I still using 800 now to try get rid of all of those deeper lines that you can see in the last picture.

Nope. Four interviews last week alone and not a word. Tomorrow's gonna be a busy day though.

Sandpaper??? I'd think that'd be worse than steel wool...

Hell, steel wool and just plain window cleaner works great on glass.

Yeah it is, but in order to get it from the silver stage which was very dull, rough and scratched, to mirror you gotta use sandpaper otherwise you'll go no where with just steel wool and/or metal polish. It's almost completely smooth but there's still more I need to sand before it becomes totally smooth and reflective.

@Akingkhan, is that the Yakima Basket? Did you get the setup new or used? Still not sure if I want the basket, but I'm sure it would come in handy for the trip down to Memphis, if I decide to get a full sized spare.

@Mikey/Alex, that pad is what I have seen before, and I think we have that same Meguiar's product up here, so at least now I know what to get to work on mine. My mufflers aren't as bad as yours started off as, Alex, so I should be able to skip the sandpaper stage. There is some rust on them around the rivets, but nothing too serious.

@Wid, do you have a 4cyl or a v6? How fast were you going? With cruise control on my V6, I could easily get 600km/tank on the hwy, doing 120km/hr.

4 cylinder and between 120-140 going up and back down 401 -> 400 > 11. Snow tires still on, I think I could get more with my summer tires.

and by 400 + miles I mean I still had enough to keep going for a decent while. I imagine another 100KM or more for 750-800 KM total.

was pretty damn windy too for quite a bit of the 400.

Yeah the meguiars works okay. I would try mothers or autosol next though.
