    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

It's always a bit sketchy to compress the springs. Although, this time around the worst issue was due to the poly bushings I decided to use. I'm using the upper on front and rears based on the assumption that they're meant to be set like that for an even ride. I know they couldn't be set to the...

    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

Finally finished getting the struts together. Thankfully, the Koni warranty is amazing. As a result, she's not only getting new springs, but new shocks, too! Anyone trying to install poly bumpers (at the top of the struts), good luck on the fronts!! What a complete pain!!

    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

Sent off the engine mounts to Innovative to give them a fresh powder coat. Before: After: Since I have a spare oil pan lying around and because I'm working in a rather tight garage, I made a couple of engine carts so that the engine would be more manageable.

    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

Lower Arm Bushings The worst part of dealing with the bushings is removing the shells. Managed to peel one like a tin can: I picked up the Prothane Lower Control Arm kit (#8-227) which also includes radius rod bushings. The kit was ~$65 (+$9 S&H). The third large bushing on the...

    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

It's out!! Got the engine removed earlier this week! The dark patch on the driver's side of the engine is power steering fluid (hence the pump rebuild) which did quite a great job of collecting all kinds of grit and grime. YAY! So much more room!! All in all...

    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

The Neuspeed springs actually are a new purchase. I just bought them a few months ago. They're still readily available directly from Neuspeed.

    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

Re: HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 12/7/2012!!] Fixed fan and temperature dial overlays. I didn't buy the kit for 2001. I think it was for 2000. Only $10 (at the time) for both stickers and all the button tops. One of the major issues I was having for quite some time...

    HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 9/30/2018!!]

Re: HomerJay's 2001 Accord Coupe EX (56K) [UPDATED 12/7/2012!!] It's been a while since I've done any work on my Honda. As such it's been a while since I last updated my car's post. A couple of years ago, it became evident that I would need an engine swap due to bad oil control rings...

Finally starting my retrofit w/ custom switchback turns

Still waiting on one of the chemicals to clean the flux residue off. What a mess!! I did clean up (to a degree) what was left from soldering the LEDs and finished the strips today. Got the remaining components in place (resistors, diodes and connector) today which meant I could test them to see...

Finally starting my retrofit w/ custom switchback turns

In my case, the board will effectively block off the reflector buckets. I do have clear reflector strips that go where the OEM ambers went and will sit about 1" in front of the LEDs. I was concerned that they'd be too dim. Sounds like it might be for the best in the end. We'll see...as I'm sure...

Finally starting my retrofit w/ custom switchback turns

You're right. That's where they will go. Basically, I'll remove the reflector bowls that were there for the single stock bulb on each headlight. The strips above will span the resulting gap. At least that's the plan. Once these boards are cleaned up, I'll be able to get a better idea of how they...

Finally starting my retrofit w/ custom switchback turns

I have had the parts lying around for way too long and after many design changes, I have gotten around to starting my retrofit. I guess I got sick of having the parts consuming my "project room"...I figure starting this thread might also help keep me on track a bit better. In the same vein as...

Done!!!TSX Retrofit with switchback solid led tubes

Re: TSX Retrofit with switchback solid led tubes Looking good! A really clean retrofit. I know the feeling; I've had parts lying around for mine for way too long. I keep getting new ideas...and, naturally, nervous about cutting the reflector. I am aiming for what accomplished. That is, a cool...

What did you do today Auto Detailing related?

Re: What did you do today Detailing related? I'm leaning that way but I do so like my custom emblem. But I might be just as happy with only the front one I made.
