Finally finished getting the struts together. Thankfully, the Koni warranty is amazing. As a result, she's not only getting new springs, but new shocks, too! Anyone trying to install poly bumpers (at the top of the struts), good luck on the fronts!! What a complete pain!!- HomerJay

Sent off the engine mounts to Innovative to give them a fresh powder coat. Before: After: Since I have a spare oil pan lying around and because I'm working in a rather tight garage, I made a couple of engine carts so that the engine would be more manageable.- HomerJay

Lower Arm Bushings The worst part of dealing with the bushings is removing the shells. Managed to peel one like a tin can: I picked up the Prothane Lower Control Arm kit (#8-227) which also includes radius rod bushings. The kit was ~$65 (+$9 S&H). The third large bushing on the...- HomerJay

It's out!! Got the engine removed earlier this week! :cool: The dark patch on the driver's side of the engine is power steering fluid (hence the pump rebuild) which did quite a great job of collecting all kinds of grit and grime. YAY! So much more room!! All in all...- HomerJay

Finally starting my retrofit w/ custom switchback turns
Still waiting on one of the chemicals to clean the flux residue off. What a mess!! I did clean up (to a degree) what was left from soldering the LEDs and finished the strips today. Got the remaining components in place (resistors, diodes and connector) today which meant I could test them to see...- HomerJay

Finally starting my retrofit w/ custom switchback turns
In my case, the board will effectively block off the reflector buckets. I do have clear reflector strips that go where the OEM ambers went and will sit about 1" in front of the LEDs. I was concerned that they'd be too dim. Sounds like it might be for the best in the end. We'll see...as I'm sure...- HomerJay

You're right. That's where they will go. Basically, I'll remove the reflector bowls that were there for the single stock bulb on each headlight. The strips above will span the resulting gap. I have had the parts lying around for way too long and after many design changes, I have gotten around to starting my retrofit.
