I would be thinking something is wrong if I’m only getting 23.58mpg in a f23 5 speed unless I’m heavy footed. Even on my weeks I was gettin it hard I was averaging 27mpg.
now unless you are custom tuned for more power and fuel delivery I can see that
So you are boosted at 3lbs it boost with water injection after 3k rpm?
not bad I guess. I was averaging 26-27mpg mixed city highway, 30-31mpg highway only.
I get 21-22 mpg city in my 1992 Acura legend with a 200hp 3.2L v6 for comparison
The difference is enough that I can feel the vtec engage at 2200 rpm and the engine pull just a hair harder as I accelerate. It’s much easier to feel with a manual trans as there is zero slip from the torque converter.
When I did my valve lash job the low cam on the f23 opens BOTH intake...
Yeah the f23 doesn’t have that huge a difference between the high and low cam lobes and mine would crossover around 2300-2500 rpm. Then a smooth hard pull all the way to 6k.
But no the engine does do what Wikipedia states and it cannot keep one of the intake valves closed. It’s wikipedia...
Yeah I could buy a running RSX type S k20 6 speed for pretty damn cheap right now and pull the motor but I’m unemployed atm so the stars aren’t aligned.
The timing belt kit didn’t come with the balance shaft belt? I would use it. The engineers are smarter than I am and it’s there for a reason. To balance out harmonics.
If I had an s2000 I would keep it stock besides maybe an intake and suspension mods. I would want that thing to run forever.
I’ve always wanted to build a civic with a b16 built to spin up to 9-10k rpm. Lol. One day. One day.
