    lug nuts and breaker bar

:henry: Exactly. Hell I used to use those flimsy tire iron/jack handles when I only weighed 135 lbs of nothing. Try that along side the freeway. If that doesn't scare the crap out of you, nothing will.

    lug nuts and breaker bar

Then it's probably more than 85 ft lbs. You need to put more azz into it. If you can't break them loose now, how are you going to change a flat along side the road?

    Coolant leak

It might be coming from the hose above it, and dripping down to that point too. How about taking a shot with liquid visible, as it looks pretty dry there at the moment. You could check and see if that nut is loose too, and tighten it up.

    lug nuts and breaker bar

You do realize they're torqued up to about 85 ft lbs right? That means you have to really lay into that breaker bar with the car on the ground first. Crack the lugs loose, then jack it up and remove the lugs. Who ever worked on it last probably used an impact wrench to tighten them up, and then...

    F23A1 01 Coupe No reverse

Yeah, when he first posted, it sounded like he needed just a trans. Then he started posting about getting a F20B, then it became needing both. In my case, if the AT ever quit in my wife's car, I'd just replace it with another AT. Then I don't have to go on a search for a new ECU with a matching...

WTB: Another wtb thread - f23 parts / coupe parts

Agreed, mostly American iron around here. Hell even Craig's list is the same way. I've even looked in the Detroit metro section of Craig's list, and found nothing most of the time. My son is a Civic guy though, and seems to be able to find what he needs on e-bay.

And if you're looking for help with your 2018, go to hondaaccordforum.com, as they have quite a few newer Accord owners over there.

New To 6th Gen Accords / F23 Scene..

I firmly believe a group of villagers from Botswana could build a better road than MDOT. The county was out today (in the rain) doing some "cold patching" on the street. we'll see how long that lasts/stays put. :drunk:

New To 6th Gen Accords / F23 Scene..

Sounds like you ended up doing a me, replacing parts to get the maintenance caught up, as the PO didn't do the upkeep. At least that's what I kept telling myself. ;) Also it's what I keep hearing about these cars... keep the maintenance up and they'll run forever.

    2 windshield cracks!!!

Yup, and a chip bigger than a dime requires replacement of the windshield. The reason for replacing if longer than a dollar is because the windshield is "compromised", as it's an integral part of the SRS (air bag system).

    F23A1 01 Coupe No reverse

But, he needs an engine and trans. I think it'll go in just fine, but be "short geared" for an F23, but for the F20B he wants to use, it would probably be ok. However, he'll need a different ECU, along with a jumper harness for the engine to run. Do a F20 swap search.

    F23A1 01 Coupe No reverse

That's just the engine though. You still need a trans. Do you really need both? Sent using 2 Campbell's soup cans and a string.

New To 6th Gen Accords / F23 Scene..

My buddy lives about 3/4's of a mile north of me on the same road (north of the double track), and had found large pieces of exhaust plumbing, license plates, fenders, and even a newer Impala rear bumper cover. :rotflmao: He got lucky when his own spare tire fell off in his driveway after...

    2 windshield cracks!!!

On the last road trip in her 00 Accord, while going thru a construction zone in Oklahoma City, I had a rock fly over the Jersey barrier at 55 on my way to Texas and chipped and then cracked the windshield. Coming back, I had another 1 fly over the barrier in Indianapolis at 65mph. That 1 scared...

    2 windshield cracks!!!

For real. Call around and find out who will do the job the cheapest. Then find out if your insurance will cover it. My 6th gen cost me 200 cash for a windshield. I upped my coverage for glass coverage after I had it replaced. Now I pay the 1st 100 on it. Did it happen on the freeway on your...

    F23A1 01 Coupe No reverse

Yup. I'd look for a low mileage JDM 00-02 AT to put into it. The trans should run for around 5-600, plus labor. This would be the cheapest, and easiest way to go.

Yup, and I would have done it when I changed the antifreeze.

New To 6th Gen Accords / F23 Scene..

Glad to I'm not the only 1 who hates the condition of Michigan roads. Like my buddy said to me 2 weeks ago, if you can go a 1/2 a mile between pot holes, it's a good road.:henry: They just suck around here. To make things worse, I live between 2 sets of rail road tracks, and they are both...

    2000 Accord EX "Security" Disable.

I can't help you on getting rid of the immobilizer, but would recommend getting it fixed. Yeah, I know I'm just a noob, but think about it this way, when it's actually working it does keep your car from getting stolen. I mean if the thief can't start it, he's going to pass on taking it. Sure...

New To 6th Gen Accords / F23 Scene..

Yup, I'm a noob, and I'll be the 1st to admit it. But then I have a tendency to rebuild a car back to stock to get 10 or more years out of it without having to keep fixing it. That shiite gets old real quick. I prepped my Accord for winter use back in August, September, and October (as funds...

    Shop won't do an alignment

If you can't find someone to adjust the toe in, use a tape measure and set it yourself. When I rebuilt the front end of my 99, all I had to do was reset the toe. I think I moved 1 side an 1/8th of an inch, and the other side a 1/16th of an inch. It gave a 1/16th in toe in, and kept the steering...

Yup, I enjoy driving my 99 i4 5mt sedan. But then I mostly use it for beer runs and when it's snowing. :) The AC in the summer months helps keep the beer cold too.

I think those engines (at least the F23) were caused by operator error. ;)
