im not too sure how alike are j30 in both 6ga and 7ga, but i had misfiring problem about an year ago. idle and ckp re-learn was performed, then the cel went away. after that, ive done seafoam, the same cel came back on. then spark plugs were changed this time, cel is gone. its been fine for...- nexTOme

i too had AT radiator on my previous 6thgen MT. mine came with plug, but it wasn't anything sturdy enough to stand radiator's pressure though. so i would assume that as long as you don't plug tranny's cooler line, you would be good to go. mine did have drain plug tho. i think they were from denso.- nexTOme

well, just because it says made in china does not necessarily mean anything like knock off. the world uses chinese cheap labor, factory, etc etc. i know many samsung (korean) electronic parts are made in mexico/south america. many sony stuffs are made in else where too. i can tell you right...- nexTOme

high pitch engine whine..
this maybe totally unrelated, but on my J engine, it used to make whine noise with AC on. then i recently got timing belt changed, along with water pump, and also, hydraulic tensioner was bad. after this, no whine at all under all situation.- nexTOme

Overheating Issues, Need thoughts
+1 on dsa's comment. your car is overheating, because coolant is not circulating (top hose hot, bottom hose cold) properly. commonly, 2 things. thermostat or water pump. cheaper/easier to replace thermostat AND it is more likely to be the cause.- nexTOme

1. why would coolant flush is needed just because it is hot here in so-cal? (anybody) 2. sounds like thermostat or water pump. ive had same problem, except that top hose came off twice due to pressure built by water pump and thermostat being stuck closed.- nexTOme
