    Fairly certain its aluminum, you could sand and paint it but I heard from my powder coating guy that it was near impossible to sand blast total pain in the arse.

    I did mine at 220 for 8 minutes pretty much the same, it works pretty well. I thought of an idea after doing it though in case you're worried about water collecting, steal some of those silica packets that come in clothing and hot glue them somewhere inside the housing?

    ^ I would second that, a few if not all of the struts are probably blown from drop springs and age. Test it by standing over the wheel well of each wheel and pushing down on the car. There should be little rebound, if its just wobbling around they're more than likely the issue. That hollow...

    You have to consider the length of the cable as well, but yea 4 gauge should be enough, do you have any kinks or bends? I wouldn't use 4awg on a 2000rms set up unless that **** was only like.. 4 feet long lol You're crazy.
