    N/A to FI: AFAccord's 10:1 Comp Turbo F23 Build Thread/Restoration

I'm satisfied and confident with the parts I have, but I have a hard time not going for this setup with the upgraded wrist pins, ceramic coating and longer rods (better r/s) for almost $200 less. There's no official page yet. Found a link on their Facebook page about half way down... "The...

Doh!! Looks like I was about a week early ordering these. Bisi just announced his custom piston/rod combo for $400 less than what these cost me. :( Hopefully Raceeng will live up to their stellar customer service reputation, and let me return these...

Not at this point. Looks like E85 is no longer an option either since outside of SC, there are virtually no stations that have it. I've actually been curious as to why Devin feels it's 'necessary' to use meth injection and E85 at his power levels. 400+whp is perfectly attainable on pump gas...

Re: dcmystery21's 2000 Accord Coupe (56k=nope) The car's been relatively well. I've been in Afghanistan for the better part of a year, and the Accord hasn't had much use since it's no longer my daily driver when I'm home. For as much as I tinker with it, I can't really complain about its less...

Nom nom indeed. :driving: That's what she said... no? :hide: Thanks! I'm even more excited about it now myself. Hadn't originally intended to have forged rods and higher compression, but now I'm definitely stoked over the idea. :hihi: Don't expect to have this done by the end...

Super durable black paint for bracket/suspension/etc...advice?

The absolute best stuff to use is called POR-15. http://www.por15.com/ My dad and I have used it to coat the chassis and backside of body panels on our Vette restoration and currently a 65 Chevy pick-up. It's super tough, applies over almost any surface and won't chip or crack, even after I...

Re: N/A to FI: AFAccord's Modest Turbo Build (attempt) No kidding! The rods were one of those things where I kinda turned my head away and squinted as I pushed the 'purchase' button. I still need to buy some big-ticket items. If you can get me some better rates on those, that would be awesome!

Re: N/A to FI: AFAccord's Modest Turbo Build (attempt) Pistons are Wiseco, #K568M865 for K20 86.5mm -9cc dish Nitrided rings Coated skirts They're designed to give the K20 a 9:1 ratio, but they should make 10.1ish compression in the F23. :boink: Rods are Crower billet, #B93749B-4 for F23 Bill...

Re: N/A to FI: AFAccord's Modest Turbo Build (attempt) Well now it's not an issue since I went ahead and purchased forged rods. I am still curious though, so I'll probably still try it when I get the time. Had a busy weekend with family, but managed to slip away for a few hours to sandblast...

    Going for a re-tune.... (Round #2) Updated 10/28/13

Re: Going for a re-tune.... Updates?? :poke: I decided yesterday that I'm going to run e85 in my build (the majority of the time at least). I'd like to see how this works out for you first. :) Let's go! :smash:

Re: N/A to FI: AFAccord's Modest Turbo Build (attempt) More goodies purchased yesterday. I had something of a revelation, and think I'm going to go e85 with this motor. Still need to get this approved with my tuner. Starting to get a little exciting here!

    Build up of F23.

The 11:1 JE K20 pistons have a 4.25cc dome. On a stock length F23 rod (141mm), this would bump compression to 12.36:1, and undoubtedly crush your valves. If you were to use the K20 rods (139mm), then your compression drops to 10.2:1. It will work unsuccessfully. Yes, that's right. With...

Car runs then shuts down after a second.

You MUST have the TDC/CKP sensor plugged in or the car won't run. You've covered the solder joints in the main relay, which would be my first guess. Next, I would take a good hard look at the TDC/CKP sensor connector and maybe de-pin it to check the terminals. I've had this connector and my...
