Update: Ran the Vin number on the Honda website and found that the auto. transmission recall concerning the "parking pawl actuation lever" was fixed. Is this related to the transmission failures that plague this car or does this have nothing to do with it?- arctichonda

Tranny shifts smooth and clean. I suppose I'll just change out the fluid with Honda atf often and keep my fingers crossed.- arctichonda

Well, thanks for all the replies- mine has 98k miles on it so do you think it would have gone bad by now? When do they tend to fail if you happen to have a bad one?- arctichonda

Greetings, I just bought a 98, lx, 4 dr, auto. Which models had the tranny issues? Was it just limited to the v6 models? Also, anything else that I should be on the lookout for? I've owned many Hondas, but never a 6th gen....thanks.- arctichonda
