6th gen tranny probs

Greetings, I just bought a 98, lx, 4 dr, auto. Which models had the tranny issues? Was it just limited to the v6 models? Also, anything else that I should be on the lookout for? I've owned many Hondas, but never a 6th gen....thanks.

i think all have tranny issues lol. 98-02. Thats about it for accords. Only our tranny is crap, everything is good to go. welcome btw

go on the honda website and put in ur vin... it will give a list of recalls, if they have been done or not... hopefully ur tranny has been recalled but havent been replaces... Which you know what that means..... FREE TRANSMISSION... courtesy of honda


i did it cuz the ingition and some piece in the steering rack was recalled so they did all the parts and labor... i just had to leave my car over night

No, 98-01 V6's had tranny issues......maybe the ODD '02, but by '02, the problem was pretty much fixed.

if you are the 2nd owner you can get it fixed... as long as it wasnt fixed already by the dealership

between 98-02 v6's and 4cylinders have recalls on auto's. I am not sure but even the honda odysse might have the same tranny. Its irony because the only american engineered part on the car was mass recalled and went through a lawsuit by customers TWICE. ahaha

they never put out a recall on the 4 cylinder tranny, but they do go bad too. i had one.
