Here are your choices for a J30A1, manual conversion:
03 CLS 6spd, the 04-08 TL 6spd, & the 03-07 accord 6spd

So, yes, the 05 6 speed Accord tranny would work. ** thats where my knowledge ends.

You probably also need to get get a Harness(OEM or RichieV6), driveshaft assemblies, pedal assemblies, lever assembly, driveshaft assembly, cables, small stuff, etc, etc,

and while its being swapped in - possibly changing the clutch, flywheel, etc.

Parts diagrams for the swap: Both should be the same, but I'd rather be safe. http://writer.zoho.com/public/richiev6/Untitled1 http://writer.zoho.com/public/richiev6/Untitled1/script

Info concerning the pedals and spacers required, taken from harness thread:

"It is dimpled in your fire wall and will have to be drilled out (3 holes) and spacers need to be added between the firewall and pedal bracket.

I buy 3/4" solid bar stock, drill it and cut it in 10mm legnths.

BTW I have done about 8 AT->MT conversions in the last year..... "-NVA-AV6

"If you do not add the spacers you will not get enough pedal travel to properly operate the clutch and you will eaither not be able to release all the way or engage all the way, LOL ask Telele, he was pulling his hair out for about a year because of this, the people he had do his swap before meeting me did not put the spacers in and he thought he needed a new clutch and/or tranny. Needless to say he was a bit relieved and pissed when I put the spacers in and all his issues went away." - NVA-AV6

You can email Richie, the main man on swaps at
[email protected] if you run into any snags, or register on v6performance.net and send a pm to NVA-AV6

keep a look out for a cheap tranny.

^Pretty much sums it up. Though the list on V6P I don't find to be very helpful because you need/don't need different things for doing the Accord 6spd as opposed to the CL-S.

I wish there was a list someone made just for doing the Accord 6spd swap.

My understanding so far is that if a 7th gen 6spd that fits to a J30A4 can fit to a J30A1, then it must be the same thing if I wanted to swap my J30A1 4spd AT to a J30A4 5spd AT?
But w/o the shifters, cables, pedal, etc. needed and i would only need the harness because im only going AT to AT?

I think AT to AT does not have a harness yet, but Rich and his group was working on it. Without it you would need the ecu and engine sensors. And then there would still be some wiring issues to work out.

Im not looking for a swap yet cause the 4spd is still good, knock on wood. But when the time comes I hope that all the wiring issues are solved because i would love to go to the 7th gen AT considering it would be a worry free swap instead of just getting a rebuilt or used 4spd which i dont want ever again.

What would the difference in price be if I was to choose this route instead of just getting a used/rebuilt B7XA?
