2 mufflers?

so i have a 99 sedan 4cyl ulev. i was wondering why i have like a mid muffler then another muffler at the end of the car? also would taking one of those out make the car louder at all or improve anything?

im sure you'll get a lil sound removing it/ less restriction

Mid mufflers/resinators are there to keep a low exhaust tone.

Removing it will only make it louder, no improvement gains at all.

Most likely just a barely noticeable sound difference that only you will hear/notice, when I removed my mid muffler/resonator it still sort of sounded stock with a lot of rasp due to the resonator delete.
If you want a slightly noticeable sound by removing it, your best bet would to be to replace your stock mufflers with some cl-s mufflers or even some TL mufflers for nice subtle exhaust note.
