I'm just a hater. MSRP prices or actual sell price because I doubt the GT-R is actually selling for 70K. Viper ACR is about 100K MSRP, as is the ZR-1 MSRP is 107K. But again, like I said, performance wise the GT-R gets stomped. No bargain bin cars here? If it costs over 35K, bang for the buck argument does down the drain because there is no such thing as money to the people capable of affording these cars. Looks, sure the GT-R looks great, but that's another story. Trust is truth. GT-R doesn't beat EVERY car in it's class or a little above.

Most cars with 480+ HP are well above $70K
And that's not even considering them having AWD or turbo.
IMO, it seems Honda/Toyota has always been playing catch up with Nissan since they first offered the Maxima with a V6 engine....Yes, that long ago.
The NSX is severely overpriced and under powered while the Supra was an awesome car was discontinued before it's time
Nissan brought back the Z and Mazda tried to follow but dropped the ball with the RX8.
Yeah, Lexus has the IS-F, but with a cheaper price tag, it also has less power than the GTR
Once again, how many 480+HP cars can match the power and price of the GTR and be reliable.
Remember, the key word is RELIABLE

lol that's funny you said the gt-r gets stomped.. the gt-r at about 480hp stock and has nearly the same performance specs as the zr-1 with 600+hp. no hate on the american cars but c'mon people are comparing these track spec cars to a 'little' stock gt-r and yet the gt-r still hangs with the big boys when testing comes around.

the GT-R is all hype. for the cars that it says it wants to bear, it leaves out a few of the same cars in the same price range that could beat it, if only by a few seconds. my biggest thing is that GT-R this and GT-R that and price tag price tag price tag. when we are talking anything over the average 35K price tag, i think price tag becomes meaningless. if you can snatch anything voer 35-40K, you can afford it. yes GT-R is the biggest bang for the buck but its not eactly in the budget buck section at 70K. when you look at it, the GT-R is driven by a PS3. most cars it competes with have little to few computer compensations and are still beating the GT-R. magazines need to get off Nissan's dick and acknowledge that track test after track test, the GT-R fails to the Corvette Z06, Viper ACR, and Porsche 911. fanboys need to die.

gtr is not all hype, come on peter, you of all people should be able to see that the car has been meticulously designed and built from the ground up to be one of the most potent cars on the road

i think the review in R&T did the best justice to the GTR, it told the story from all sides (Z06, 911 Turbo, and GTR) if anyone is on anybody's dick its you. get off your viper ACR fix and look at the facts, the GTR will out perform the STOCK viper, and when they come out with their upgraded version I have no doubt that it'll be wiping the floor with you and your fanboy ACR's

nothing personal peter but dude your comments are just ****ing rediculous, someone's gotta call you on em and that be me

be like it is
wait who has the fastest time around the ring for a production car under $100k?

hmm its not american

not german

not italian

oh thats right...its the gt-r. when it was first testing, it was slower than the 911, then nissan stepped up and made it faster. everywhere they track tested the r35, a 911 turbo was brought along. amazing...

yeah, its a $90k nissan. what's that? it beats anything else at its price point? it has millions put into R&D? you can buy it and a nice DD (accord :hihi: ) for the cost of the 997 alone?

see, vw failed with the phaeton because it had nothing over its rivals. it was another full size luxury sedan selling for lots of money. they could have made it succeed with voice-everything, and a v12 for under $50k...something like that. the new gt-r is everything but "me too."

amen. yes the acr may outperform the gt-r but not by much. remember the GT-R is stock and it weighs 500 more lbs! that's what a lot of the dodge and chevy fanboys don't understand *even i don't understand how they did it*.. just wait till the lighter and faster gt-r vspec is revealed.. THEN we'll see who stomps on who.

I'll give you that it hangs.

Okay. I can give you that Nissan spent careful time and planing on R&D.

Okay fine, if the V-Spec can wipe the floor with the GT-R fine, but we are still talking about GT-R v. everything else.

It's not that I'm an ACR fanboy praising it as the best car possible because other than fast, it has nothing else. No interior, no creature comforts. I can say that the GT-R has all the bells and whistlers for a car for around $70K. It's leather, it has music, it has air conditioning. Fine. ACR is a track car. FINE. What my main problem with is still this. The GT-R comes out to play saying it can do X, Y, and Z. Once something comes along that can take it out by not a few seconds a few 10 seconds, everyone gets upset and says, "well that's not fair, you're comparing a car that is a purpose built track car to a budget car." Bull****. The GT-R was built specifically to stomp on the "monster cars." It was the giant killer (still is to an extent). I am merely pointing out the fact that it doesn't stomp every giant it tries to take out or that fall under it's same targeted class. I'm not saying the ACR is the best car ever. The same argument can be made with the ACR v. anything over $100K. The ACR is not that impressive in speed and comfort compared to cars that cost 50K more, but hey I can say for a car that is less than $500K it's the biggest bang for the buck right?

Cliff Notes: GT-R is a great car, just doesn't beat everything it wants to beat. ACR isn't the best car either, it's just a good one for it's price like the GT-R.

One more thing I will give up. The Viper (ACR or not) sucks dick for a daily driver. It's too much of a racing car and not enough of a driving car. It has no leather, it's vinyl with cloth. The interior still looks plastic, but hey, the money went into a V10 I guess.
