i have a set of 17x7.5 with +44 offset. would it be better to go with the 215/45/17 or 225/45/17? i'm also planning on lowering my ride too. i'm having a hard time choosing because i want the 225 for the contact and the 215 to avoid chances of rubbing. for those with 17x7.5 +44, do u rub with 225? or did u go with 215?

i had 17x7.5 w/ 225/45-17 and I rubbed, but that was only with a +42 offset and it barely rubbed.

the 225's will keep your speedo accurate, but the 215s will have a smaller sidewall.

225 isn't for one size wheel or the other....

i used 225/45-17s on my 17s and i plan on using 225/40-18 on whatever 18s i eventually get.

there's an old thread about what tire sizes represent, might want to search for it. kind of info that will help you out pretty much forever, assuming you will always be driving a car

basically for instance with 225/45-17

225= 225mm wide tire
45= sidewall heighth is equal to 45% of 225mm
17= diameter wheel the tire is made for.

alrite then, i'll just get the 225 but i hope the rubbing won't be bad. and i'm planning on getting the nitto neogens, i heard that it will wear evenly even with some negative camber from lowering.
