So..after you completely tear apart your trunk and rear subframe, make a custom subframe, mounts, machine new hubs or the stock ones to accept an axle or cv shaft, figure out the correct suspension geometry and setup, figure out how you're going to run a driveshaft to the rear of the car and somehow fit an exhaust, then somehow make it all work together putting down tons of torque through a drivetrain that wasn't designed to handle it...

Come back and let us know how it went.

Let's be realistic for a second...

The guy on HT that converted his DC2 teg to a mid engine/RWD setup with an H22 - Engineer by trade

Guy with the Vette engine in his EJ Hatch - Fabricator

CRX with CRV drivetrain - Fabricator

These guys ALL had extensive knowledge in welding, fabricating, wiring, body work, etc in order to do what they did.

Ok so I sure have gotten some interesting responses on this haha wow. For what it's worth I wasn't planning on sitting down with my socket set, hammer, and skill saw and doing this build. The reason why I am even thinking about this build is because in June me and some local guys who are just getting done being certified are opening up are first shop. We have a 4 point hydraulic lift, engine lift/stands, 50k+ in snap on tools, a pipe bender, and an almost combined 50+ years of experience. So I have the location, the people who know what they're doing and the time to do it and learn myself.

I am trying to get some information on the TL rear subframe to see what sort of work would need to be done to make this work... kind of tricky to say the least. If anyone has a good source for dimensions other than some Haynes manual, that would be sweet, because down the road I am going to need specifics, very specific.

The fuel tank is going to be one of the issues... I have a buddy who is twin charging is '83 Corrola and he took out his fuel tank and put a fuel cell in his trunk. He would fabricate one for me for around $500. There's one option.

As well as the exhaust I spent some time under my baby this morning with a tape measure, pen and paper, and a beer and got an idea. Since there will be a new drive shaft running down the center of my car, and a larger rear axle as well as a diff back there I got inspired by the viper. If this build ever comes to fruition I would take the exhaust down the driver side of the car and dump it right before the rear driver side tire. This would eliminate a fair amount of piping, especially because the turbo will still be situated on the driver side of the car the down pipe will just continue straight back instead of curving and going down the center the way it does now.

Always learning, always researching, never giving up, will continue to update as always.

i can't wait to see your work :) don't really care if it works or not....

2 years ago, EVERYONE said a 3.5 swap was impossible....
1 year ago, everyone said achieving over 400hp on Accord is impossible...
2 days ago some people here still thinks a 3.5 is a dream....

DOn't worry about what some of these people think. Do what you want to do, and have fun with it.

The guy in Taiwan has a TT 6thgen V6. Who cares what these nay sayers have to say.... GO FOR IT! I would love to see what you get from it... I'm thinking about messing with that somewhere down the line too just for kicks!

Not to be a douche or anything, but i really don't think that you have the skills necessary to under take this task. In your previous thread you didn't know whether or not you had retard timing for boost. Then you chose to get a piggy-back ECU instead of doing it right and getting a fully programmable ECU.

What you are saying is completely possible. Its just a matter of having enough money, skill, and knowledge. Hell, full-race made their 240sx AWD with a GTRs drivetrain. Another kid on HT is stuffing 2 H22s in his Del Sol (1 drives the back of the car, the other drives the front).

Not to be negative, i just don't think you got the know how. But, i always love to be proved wrong. Best of luck

let me know if you need any CAD work done. I can do 2d or 3d work for you. Also if you need any specialty parts made if you draw it up on paper and send it to me I can detail it so you can take it to any fab shop without the engineering charge.

For sure man when I get to that step I will keep your name in mind thanks.

Just a note: If anyone thinks that I would even attempt this project solo by myself with my knowledge needs to think a little harder. I'm not going to risk hurting this car by tearing things apart of which I have minimal experience. Think please.
