the day it was released here in Canada, one of our more popular providers (Fido) system crashed. Funny thing is that we've had major issues with it's release here.

Our stores opened 2 hours early, 8am instead of 10am. The customers for those 2 hours were able to procure the Iphone 3G, but as soon as 10am hit, the whole Fido Network went down for the rest of the day. People were waiting in line sine 7:30pm the night before, so you can imagine how pissed they were when they were finally able to enter the store and still waited over 5 hours to only be told to come another day.

I know this 'cause my gf told me the whole story and man was she pissed.

I doubt the providers' systems were built to handle that kind of swell in useage. Imagine millions of people attempting to register for service hitting your network at the exact same time all over the country. With the initial iPhone release there was a hiccup in AT&T's network too.

When I went to the mall on Saturday there was still a 1-1.5 hour wait to get into the store for an iPhone. I was picking up a set of headphones for my ancient 1 year old iPhone..... lol

I bet you'll see add on programs for it soon though....I have my phone software hacked and i have both of those features on my 1st gen phone. Also have a program that puts the phone in manual mode so you can adjust shutter speed and exposure.....
