Re: 6 > 4 [6spd + 3.2 swap]

Chris, I am going to shoot you a pm with a few questions to ask Rich about, I would like to do some cross-referencing of my notes regarding my future plan as well.

This is shaping up to be one of the more detailed engine/6spd swap DIY's!

'Bout time!

:badger:

Sure, just try to keep them brief. I found out he gets overwhelmed by long emails. lol

Yeah for the longest time people have said all the info one needs is on V6P but it's really not if you don't have a damn good background knowledge. I am intending our documention to be the "be all end all" DIY guide for this swap & end the ambiguity. Of course there will still be questions since my swap will not be like everyone else's, but for the most part, everything really will now be in one place once we complete it.

So far, so good Chris. Everything sounds good. Im glad to hear that the TSX knob is solid as well. I like it better than the s2k or the skunk and I was hoping it wasnt light.

I was happy with the progress until the site sponsor contact told me, since I had all the part numbers, to enter them manually on their site to place the order. Which is fine, I was just hoping to email him the list and he'd get it together. Because sometimes the part numbers don't show up when you search for them, or they aren't shown in a diagram, etc. But I'm getting free shipping so I can't complain. So I need to do that. But seeing as how I still haven't done my taxes, that must come first. :lawl:

I was happy to hear the TSX knob was solid as well, I don't know why I thought it wasn't. So the fact that it's weighted and looks awesome is going to make me happy. And after seeing pics of the s2k knob, I realize it and the TSX are pretty much the same size (I previously thought the TSX knob was way bigger than the skunk/s2k knob). I personally love the combination of a silver knob, red shift pattern, and black perf leather. And of course the fact that it will match the perf leather on my CL-S wheel is awesome.

I'm also happy to report that the Innovative motor mounts I'm getting are the 60A poly-u street mounts, which are...yep, you guessed it...red. :D

Yep. It wasn't originally part of the plan, in fact I had purposely thought of leaving the motor swap for myself someday so I could do it on my own. But doing it now makes sense in every way, really. Thanks for following it, I will definitely be whoring the hell outta this thread.

I am so eager to see the difference, I just keep thinking about how on the 5.5 hour drive home...my car will have a manual, more power, and sound different. I think that will be the best part! :driving:

ruh roh! When?

Have the knob re-wrapped in tan perf leather....?

I'd consider that if I was going with a tan boot. But since I'm using the CL-S one, which is black, I think the black perf will look good. Plus as I've said the knob and steering wheel will match.

If I can find all the parts that I need I can get the swap started somewhere in July. Hopefully. Finding parts down here is really a pain. Plus I have skool n work so it will be difficult.

Btw which shift knob will u be using Chris?? My ebay shift knob is crap :lolhitting: Im thinking about getting a skunk2 knob.

Those are nice. I'm loving this one, from the TSX. I'm not going to have my boot low on the lever like that, though.

What it looks like in the car, sort of.

Close, the Civic knob doesn't have perf leather. Check out pages 8-10 or so, someone posted a pic of the Si one.
