Hey guys, SO LONG since I have last visited....alot has changed since 07-19-11!! hahaha. Anyways, I know where to run back to. So I have an 01 accord 2.3 with an auto tranny out. I know, big surprise, BUT I am trying to pick up a lower mileage one at the local junkyard and they said I can't install a 98-00 tranny bc there is a "special" bracket on the 01-02. I searched the forums and couldn't find any info on this, I have had 6gens for 11 years now and I have never heard this ::rly: .So...any ideas fellas?! Nice to be back btw

The following is from V6P:
http://www.v6performance.net/forums...4-honda-accord-v6-av6-transmission-~-faq.html
 ↓
Which Accords does it affect and what has Honda done so far to fix the situation:
1998 and 1999 models have no extended warranty
2000 and 2001 models get an extended warranty on it(7yrs/100,000mi)
2002 models have the bearing problem for the transmissions fixed, which supposedly fixes the tranny problem and thus are exempt from the extended warranty

Maybe that "special bracket" was used to fix the problem? That's all I know about the difference between 6 & 6.5gen AT...

Hmm...that sounds interesting. It is on the v6 though....possibly they did something for the 01-02 trannies on the 4cyl to help the longevity like on the 02 v6? strange
