I need to know If there is a difference in the driver side axle and a passenger size axle in length. This because I finally put my axles back on my car and when I wanted to the axle nuts back one of them keeps sliding back out of the hub and one won't even clear the hub.

Yeah, they're definitely different. Look at what side of the bay your tranny is on... the longer one usually goes on the side opposite the tranny.

On the 5 spds (and probably others too) the left axle has a half shaft that spins in a bearing mounted to the block.

Well you see thats what I thought because the axle I put on the passenger is the one that seems like its to long one and the one on the driver side is pushed all the way in where i cant reach it with an axle nut. i hope the is now i would have needed longer axles for the 5 sp auto from the 7th gen

im pretty sure they are. the trans is closer to the drivers side of the car, so the longer one would probably be the passenger side one.

you have that backwards... the trans is on the passenger side and the longer would be the driver side axle
