I know camber doesb't effect tire wear as much as toe, but how much does it ? I plan on dropping it about 2.5 inches.

It's the inside of your tires that will pay the price. Haven't taken pics of mine, but I will and post them up for you. I've been running the same tires on the car in the summer since '06.

IM not worried about camber because i plan on doing a mild tuck, and i need negative camber for that.

LOL @ People who buy camber kits to "save their tires."

Glad the truth was revealed in this thread. The sooner people are properly informed, the sooner the concept of camber destroying tires will die in a fire.

yea...front camber kits are worthless also....all they do is make you lose what front suspension travel you would have had left after lowering your car...

i would recommend a rear camber kit tho if you plan on regular size wheels...the camber on the rear gets agressive really fast...and is easy to correct...

not trying to thread jack @ ALL! but..
i checked out the link about camber caster and toe, and i still am not completely understanding how camber doesn't affect tire wear?

im planning on only doing Progress Springs (2.0'' drop F&R) and Tockico Blue Struts...(thats how deep my pockets are)

my $ wheels are a set of 17's and i deff need to buy new tires for them... im not opposed to low profile tires but i have them now, and they make me unhappy.. so id like to get a lil more meat under my feet...

i live in NY so i am constantly hammered with bad weather... please any insight would help...

<3 this forum and props to everyone who helps!

That's the thing... Camber doesn't affect your tires nearly as much as toe will, so don't bother with a camber kit if you're in it to save your tires. If you are looking for a larger contact patch with the road, then get one. People that are dropped very low don't even really need a camber kit as long as they pay attention to their tires and rotate them every so often. I need to do that...

When you have negative camber and perfect toe, all the tire is doing is rotating along that one part of the tire. It will wear quicker than normal, but compared to a toe-in situation it is nothing. If your wheels and tires are toe-in, they will not only be rotating in a forward motion, but also inwards. The amount of friction that you put on your tires from toe outweighs camber any day of the week, and friction is what is going to make your tires go. That's what makes your tires grip the road, so if you are essentially dragging them across the ground instead of rolling them, they will get used up much quicker.

Hope that clears things up for you.

How hard is it to install a set of F2 type 1s & do they come with everything I would need? Is there anything else I should replace while I'm at it?

im assuming they come with top hats...i just looked on f2 autolife's site, and i didnt see a pic of the whole assembly. but its cake. ksports come with top hats. all you have to do is take out the bottom bolt that holds in the bottom of the shock, and the top nuts and take the stock/current setup out, and just throw in the f2's. you dont need to swap anything over....as long as they come with the top hats, which i think they do.
