Hello everyone,

I was able to score some near mint condition acura cl seats for $40 each. I do not know the year but it was definitely a 2nd generation 3.2 cl (I did not see type s badges if that matters).

Anyways I have been struggling to interpret this information: http://cl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=800446

because I think the 01 info from above is different than the 02 or 03 model cls. The colors of the wires are different anyways..

So is anyone able to provide information on how to wire up the seats with the stock harnesses so that just the switches work (no memory or heat) I imagine i would just have to tap the stock wiring coming from my accord's chassis into a select few wires or the CL harness that go to the control switches... I just dont know wire of the 20 different colored wires to tap into.. and I believe its just the solid black ones that need to be grounded.

Also, I was thinking about just pulling the battery out of my accord and testing the wires one the CL seats one by one to determine which ones control the seat position switches... Im not the best with electrical stuff so would that be a good (safe) idea?

Thank you to all in advance for any assistance you may provide. I always appreciate the support from this site.

I guess I did not search enough. I believe I found my answer:

Got them all figured out the drivers seat you send 20amps to the solid red and solid blue wires and 7.5amps to the white/blue and solid yellow wires and ground all the black wires. The passenger you send 20amps to the solid red and white/red wires and 7.5amps to the white/blue wire and ground all the blacks.

It looks like the heated seat heaters have thermostats and breakers built into them so you should be able to hook up power and ground with the right amperage to the wires and have them work no problem. It looks like if you send 20amps to the white/blue(low heat) and the white/red(high heat) wires and ground all the ground and it should work, also the wires are on a seperate 3 pin connector.

I will hopefully get a chance to try this on Wednesday. Great, straight-foward information if it works!!

It's a bit easier if you're swapping the seats into an accord with the OEM power seats feature.

A wire diagram should help.

I do have a stock drivers power seat but the passenger side is manual. Also the harness coming from the stock seat only has 5-6 wires, whereas these new seats have 22+..

here is the link for the wiring diagram I found: file:///C:/Users/spencer/Downloads/Acura%20CL%202003%20-%20Seat%20Wiring%20Diagrams%20(1).pdf

Can anyone help me in figuring out how to set these seats up for the adjusting functions to work?

I tried adding power to the wires mentioned in the previous post, but I had no luck.. I am thinking about taking the seat apart to get direction to the adjusting switches and then adding power and ground directing to them... Rather than adding power and ground at the end of the wiring harness.

Any suggestions and input would be greatly appreciated. It is killing me to have these gorgeous/amazingly comfortable seats sitting in my room!!

Thanks all,

Spencer

Are your seats CL or CL-S ? If it's from a CL-S I can help you out .. if not, I'm not sure if the wiring is the same from CL to CL-S ..

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the response. The car I took them out of had 3.2 cl badges, but not the type s badge.. However, the seats look exactly like the front seats in this post

So now I was finally able to get the few pics I took to download

Here's the pics of the front seats that I got from the CL-S.

Now for the rears which forgot to take a pic of lol, but there in the car already, and so everyone knows the CL-S rears don't fold down like the accord rear seats.

Here's before

Me doing some work on them that the gf snapped a shot behind my back

After cutting panels and modifying the CL back seat, finally got it in, than the bottoms, had to do some bracket changing on the floor board and bolting the console down. and I had to use the accord seat belts, because I didn't take the one's out of the Cl but I made them work. I'm just sticking with doing the interior black and grey interior. but here's the pics in the car

finished product, they look amazing, at least to me.

I am going to give it another try tomorrow. I am going to take a power wire directly from battery, add inline fuse, then relay switch, and then to a fuse board under each seat that has 4 slots for glass fuses. From there I will hook up each wire individually to the required fuse: 20amps to the solid red and solid blue wires and 7.5amps to the white/blue and solid yellow wires..

And then ground the 4 black wires coming from the CL harness..

Should this get my seats working???

Thanks for any help.

Good luck! You have the seats I want, and digging the Domo  I've been looking for a CL or CL-S to grap the seats out of and also looking for the vents in the center console. Hopefully all works out and if so, do a How-To with the wiring.

Theoretically that should work if that's all the wires you have, but I had a grip of wires to deal with .. Just try it out and make sure everything functions as it should.

unfortunately those are far from the only wires that I have.. There is a pigtail harness with about 22 wires..
Based off of previous posts the wires listed above are all that need power.. can anyone confirm this?

Chris, how did you get yours set up? What color wires did you add power to? Same way I described?

Thanks again for any help.
