Well b1L@L's ride looks hottttt. So I'd have to disagree, but I'll reiterate - his work because they sit right on the line going along the side of the car. Down the center, without some kind of aftermarket hood to give the car proper lines for it, would not work.
I think that imports are in general more rounded, and tend to have all the major body lines around the wheels and on the sides. American cars tend to emphasize the hood and the center of the car, and their longer length and more rectangular shape make the center stripes work.
For those waiting for a picture of my car, imagine the following:
A black 99 ex coupe with the stock 16" wheels scratched all to hell. Stock suspension, no body kits, and those ugly factory pinstripes down the side of the car. The only exterior mods are my TYC aftermarket headlights and the upper and lower black grillcraft grilles.
