Does the screech happen only when you're gassing? Because when I started my car, the engine would screech and I asked my mechanic friend and he said the mechanic that did a tune-up tightened the belts too tight or it was the other way around where they were too loose and had to get them tightened. I don't really remember. :dunce: But I'm pretty sure it had to be tightened.

what youre hearing is your belts squealing/screeching because theyre too loose or too old. what the op hears is his intake whistling.

The timing belt was replaced at 110,000. I now have 147,000. Which belts could it be?

Put back your stock intake and see if it makes the same noise. Otherwise, like everyone said, it's normal to hear extra noises from your intake pipe. It's aluminum so noise vibrations will be heard louder, and you're sucking in more mass of air so it's going to get kicked around. If you had a velocity stacker, it'd be even louder.
