I have a Trek 4300 that I use for casual riding. I only paid $190 for it and figured it'd be a lot more reliable than a comparably priced new bike. Was in great condition when I got it but I think a derailer needs replaced now, trouble shifting into 3rd (is that how you say it for bikes? lol)
I know a few of you guys have dogs... have any of you gotten them to run alongside you? Lol. My new dog needs lots of exercise, so I've started jogging instead of biking so that I can take him with me. Just curious

I never have tried going with a dog. But they do make leashes for it. One is called "The Springer"
the 4300 is a really reliable bike for the price. That was my first mtn bike and it took lots of beating on the trails. Are you having trouble in the front or rear derail? If it is infront it could be a few things that are easy to fix. If it is in the back then the cassette could be worn or the derail hanger could be bent

Not good riding weather this week...yesterday at 10 in the morning it was 95 degress with a head index of 108...I think we actually hit easily in the 100s with heat index around 115+
IT IS AWFUL...can't get myself to even think about riding the bike

I bought my clipless shoes and pedaling is so much better now. I gained 1.5mph

97 degrees and just put in about 10 miles on the trails and loved every second of it!

what happened dude?
I was going downhill in an expert section at one of the local trails and my entire left side pedal arm came off, the bolt on the crank was all stripped and it wouldn't even fit back on lol, idk how to explain it, it just happened, while I was going downhill... crashed at the bottom haha
