Hi,

I just got some used 17" rims with 215/45/17 tires. I will eventually lower the car about 2" but i'm wondering if I should put the wheels on. Anyone has any pics without the drop? Thanks.

I would wait until after you lower the car. If the tires were 215/50 I'd say you're safe, but 45's might look a little too small in the wheel well with no drop.

There are photos in my members ride thread of my car at stock height with 17's, tires were 215/50 though.

Here's my car with 17" TL wheels before I lowered it

And here's after lowering:

If you can get the drop soon, I'd just wait. Adding bigger wheels just increases the 4x4 look unless the car is dropped.

Thanks! Actually the 17" without a drop doesn't look too bad but maybe it's just the angle. Decisions decisions.

Dont do it. wait. I had 215/40/zr17 and the gap was ridiculously embarassing, even with a 2" drop. Granted yours are 45, I'd still wait.
