Anyone run Oversize Tires?

situation, wheels i like are 17x7.5 +45 offset

the TL's i have are 17x8 +45 offset


the tires i have on the tls are 235/45r17 (which is recommended size for TL rim)
obviously recommeneded size for a 7.5 will be less, such as 225

BUT what if i used my 235 tires on the 7.5 wide rim

would if have that slightly chubby look to it? or would it bulge out too far?

only reason why im asking is because these tires are BRAND NEW, maybe 100 miles on them. and if i can save $500 in tires thats a + for me

theyll def bulge out out, but probably not too bad. if its a look you can deal with, why not.

personally it wouldn't hurt that much but if you are lowered, it's going to rub your fender. i would just go with the cheaper tires because i'm tired of buying new tires. haha

personally i would do it because the over sized tires kinda help protect against curb rash... im have a 225 and the rim and the wall of the tire is straight so i hit little corners here and there... but hey its up 2 u... i dont see anything wrong

If they aren't rubbing now, I doubt they're going to rub later. And going down .5" isn't going to make a huge difference. They'll look a little beefier on the wheels, but not so bad that you need to worry or anything IMO

If it were me Mike, I'd just give it a try. If it looks like ish, you can always change them, and sell them.

depends on what wheels they are....if its those TE37's...then yea it would be worth it...if not...eh

well for a 7.5 rim a 235 will work...it'll just choke the bead a little...bulge out. I'm running a 255/60 (recommended 7-9 inch rim...so it's within spec) on a stock 15x7 rim on a Camaro...and the side walls just look fat. The important thing is to make sure they don't rub.
