APEXI VAFC...need it put in laymen's terms...

So I have a 98 accord ex v6, and I am not a giant tech guru, but can someone dumb out what this (APEXI VAFC) does. Cause I have read about them on this site and tried some others for explination....it's just not clicking. Anyway just wondering what it does and if I could use one? any info is much appreciated!

Pretty much allows you to change the rpms at which VTEC kicks in. I think you can change your air/fuel ratio too. If you don't know a lot about working on engines and tuning cars, I don't recommend using one. The benefits don't outweigh the risks for an inexperienced tuner (like me!).

thanks man, what if i got it tunner by a shop are there any doan falls to modding the ecu like that?

I cut off the dual exaust and welded a single 2.5 pipe all the way from the headers to my awesome muffy(its loud...in a good way).and then I messed around and hooked up some 6k Phillips HID's and my cold air intake....

Hey so im obviously new to this, but i am glad to be on. I drive a 98 accord Ex v6. the only mods i have done have been less than professional but its a "work in progress". so far I cut off the dual exaust and welded a single 2.5 pipe all the way from the headers to my awesome muffy(its loud...in a good way).and then I messed around and hooked up some 6k Phillips HID's and my cold air intake....all the starter crap i guess. wish lists goes on but i love all the DIY's on here for the Civic fogs and painted HI beams.. Really good stuff all kinds of new ideas and possibilities. but that was way to long... so once i figure out how to post some new pictures on here they will be up....kinda confused on that whole process still.
Anyway, glad to be here.

I wouldn't waste my money on a VAFC unless I was boosted and had no money for a real EMS or had some serious internal work done.

All it's going to do for you is sit there and look pretty.
