Sounds like the best platform for you is the 4 door 5MT, since you said you drive people a lot and want something a little bigger. But as you know, aesthetics of the sedan vs. coupe are very different so that may factor in. Really though, the coupe doesn't sound like much of a step in the right direction if transporting your peeps is a main focus for replacing your current car.

I would agree with the majority in getting the manual., BUT...

...if you want to be self-indulgent haha, let your friends walk & get the V6 coupe. Then a couple years down the road swap the auto for a 6spd. The auto does have a bad rep, but to me it's easy enough to take care of with regular maintenance and not driving like a retard. It's just not as fun as a manual. I wanted a V6 coupe b/c I just couldn't bring myself to drive a 4 cylinder, manual or not, haha. :hihi: But since you're coming from a 4cyl anyway, this probably doesn't matter to you.

Good luck no matter what you decide.

Are the 2.3L engines good. I own a 1998 Prelude right now, with a H22.

yea, the f23's are good motors. nothing quick, but if you get the 4 cylinder with the 5 speed manual, itll be pretty peppy.

but definitely get the 5 speed. the auto's usually all tend to have problems and need replacement down the road.

manual

i bought an auto and swapped to a manual, and the manual is more fun to drive and as long as you dont install a heavy clutch, then manual in traffic is not bad at all

I love the feel of or stock clutches. Its stiff compared to newer cars. I hate test driving these newer cars where it feels like the clutch is about to depress its self under the weight of the pedal.
