Hi guys,

So I bought those ebay blackhoused lights, got them installed, and they look great. Problem is I can't adjust them lol I turn the screws but nothing happens. I complained to the guy and he gave me a full refund, so now i have a pair of good looking, half-useless headlights.

Has anyone ever had their adjusters break on them? I know they worked when I first got them, but they must have broken somehow.

I looked through tons of DIY headlight threads to see how the mechanism works, but I couldn't figure it out. Would I have to take apart (ie. oven) to fix/replace the adjusters, or is it a bit easier?

Any help would be appreciated...before you say I told you so lol

It could be that the adjusting screw isnt threaded all the way into the little plastic (i forgot what its called) but thats my guess. When I took apart my ebay blackhouse headlights and if I didnt align the adjusting screw into little plastic it wont adjust after I put it back together again.:madrun:

Most likely because OEM headlights have the actual screw/gears that adjusts the housing up or down and left or right. Ebay/generic items don't spend the time/money to have someone R&D the part. They just make it look "identical" That's all.

Which is why there is a screw that looks identical to the adjusting gears of OEM headlights. They just don't do anything

^^^Exactly

You know the old saying, you get what you pay for.
R the headlight beams terrible off?
If you've received a refund and you kept the headlights.
You can pull the headlights apart and pull apart your stock headlights and put the back of your headlights on the lense/housing of the ebay headlights
Basically, the only step you're skipping from a DIY is the painting

be like it is
you could try and take the bulb out and grab the reflector while turning the screws to see if they re-thread...

They USED to adjust, but for some reason they dont anymore...lol I even tried using a drill to turn it faster, but nothing.

The lights look liks this...
-----------------HIGH
---------------------
HIGH----------------
LOW-------------LOW

Where - is the wall, or whatever...lol and the lows are still too high, I think im blinding other drivers.

Anyway, I did more research and apparently the bolts raise and lower the entire shield thing, not just the bulbs...so i guess if i try what ryan said, and pull in the thing while turning, we'll see if it works...

Any other ideas/experiences are welcome lol

Free (****ty) headlights ftw

well, I'm still trying to figure it out, but I've reached 2 possible reasons.

1: The actual plastic thing that moves the housing up and down is broken. If this is the case, I'll have to take the backs of my OEM's and stick them on these...which would suck lol

2: Like ryan said, the screw just slipped off the actual thread, so oi'll see if i can 're-thread'...lol

I dunno whether to be happy i got decent looking lights for free, or be mad that they're broken lol
