Hit up nastie garage in pomona for the swap. They swapped my friends rsx with another k20 for a lil more than 400 bucks. All fluids topped off too, manual conversion might be a lil more since he gotta cut into the wall for clutch pedal but i doubt itll be over the top pricing

Ill probably hit them up today. That Transmission fix helped for about 60 miles but now the tranny is going downhill real quick. Thanks DBO.

Oh i forgot to mention, they only charged him around 400 since he brought in his own motor. But no problem!

I hit up Nastie Garage and they gave me a $900 estimate for labor and wiring and I have to supply all parts.
If I do get a donor car, Im looking at close to $1600 total. My sister just got her transmission rebuilt for $900 so Im really not sure what to do now.:Boo:

I have a shop in Thousand Oaks that I go to for all my needs, I can give him a call tomorrow and see if he could do it and what it would cost. I'm pretty sure it's far from you but I trust him and he will be fair.

Ooooh that is alot, sorry bout that, but keep shopping. Stay on craiglist and the forums marketplace, youre bound to find someone letting go of transmission for cheap. Might be a long run, but search up username K3ychain, last time i checked he was selling a full J swap, motor and tranny. Thats if you wanna go that route

Thanks f23.Tetsusaiga, would appreciate it.
DBO, I know, jaw dropped when I heard that number. Not wanting to go down a J series swap either, seems like it would cost alot to even fit a v6 into a 4 cyl engine bay. I'll try and wait as long as possible to see if a deal comes my way but with me driving 45 miles a day, I can't see my tranny lasting another 2 weeks. Really don't want to have to settle with a rebuild but its looking like my only option.

i dont think its much of a difference between our 4cyl and the v6 engine bay. Our engine bay looks pretty roomy, and i wanna say the only thing different besides motor is the 5 lug pattern. i mean i can be wrong though

I would think a lot of things would need to be relocated in the engine bay. Keychain's asking $1750 anyways so that probably won't work anyways.

Hey Cali, I called my shop but the owner was out. I'll give him a call again at the end of the day if I haven't heard from him and again tomorrow if I still can't reach him. Just wanted to touch base with you man, I know time's an issue with your trans.
