Okay,

Yes, Justin and I will be the main contacts/planners for this year's CanAm Cruise 2011. We will rely on help from our Canadian brothers who have done an amazing job with the majority of the planning the last 2 years. The previous two years we had held it in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This year we're just switching it up so that we can hopefully get some new faces and to make it a little more fair to the US people who've made the trip up to Canada the past two years. So it WILL be in the US. Canadians.... get on those passports NOW if you don't have one!

The location is not yet determined. Justin is still waiting for some responses. Trust me, we will try to get the early details posted as soon as we can.

When that time comes, we will be making a new thread like we have the previous 2 years. There is a LOT of planning that goes on for a 3-day event like this. Locations, cruise routes, hotels, food, places to park, night activities, etc etc.

But ask anyone who has been.... they'll all tell you it's an awesome time. SO MUCH MORE than a car meet.

if you're able to drive there in a single day you should go, its one of the best vacations you can have, especially since its only over a weekend.

IF I could get the time off work I would consider it, but given my schedule and the time off that i needed last year I'm not gonna be able to make it. I hope everyone has fun and that there are no issues like we had last year with customs

I actually was so restricted with my time off that I just stayed in motels, with that, food, and gas I spent less that 500 bucks on CanAm. Its affordable and fun, plus you get to see the tall white freak of nature that is Kevin

Just seeing this thread now. Kevin and I are going to start talking about possible locations in the near future. My GF's dad has contacts at Lime Rock Race Park in Lakeville, CT and at Stafford Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT.

Ideally I would like to do this at Lime Rock. They have camp grounds in the park, so I though it might be pretty sweet if we camped out there for the weekend, had a cruise through the hills of Western, CT/Eastern NY, and then have our car show in the infield of the track. I though about possibly organizing a track day on Saturday as opposed to the cruise, but that would probably be crazy expensive (track day costs can range from $200 up to $400 per person depending upon how many people commit).

I have to put down on paper what we want to do so I can forward it to my GF's dad so that he can see if it's possible. The owner of my company is also friends with Skip Barber so I might have a little pull there as well because he has a school at the track.

Right now things a still really up in the air, but I'm going to try and coordinate with Kevin soon so we can get the ball rolling on this, I've just been really busy over the past four weeks.
