Re: Goodbye and farewell for now...

Yeah a lot of this doesn't make sense

He could have easily/affordably turned the interior back to stock and made it family friendly

Or he could have said he is going to get something like a camry

but saying that he's getting an evo or a subaru just doesn't add up

My guess is that he realized that all this "Because Racecar" wasn't going to work with the accord and he wants something faster. Admittedly our accords are not great track cars, FWD, not really that light, j series engines not having that great of an aftermarket support, etc.

Matt.....uh......Nov 2012, you'll be around for that still, yes?

I completely understand wanting to shift the focus with the responsibilities you are facing now, commend you on that.

Saw a group on modded VW's over the weekend and thought of you, wasn't able to take a pic while I was passing them on the hwy, but I saw some great potential in the Jetta's.

Whatever you decided to go with, keep it classy, that's all I ask.

Hope you will still be around so we can coordinate things for November.

Re: Goodbye and farewell for now...

This makes me happy and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

This is what people didn't get when I moved away from 4G Accords and it's what people aren't going to understand when I move away from my 6G. Life is about upgrading. Moving on, and, getting something better and more refined. Save the toys for when you're older and have the time and money to do so.

I'm glad to hear you're "growing up". :p

I know you won't be as active but I think you'll still be around from time to time. ;)

I agree, thanks

U spent all tht money building up the car and u're just gonna give it away? No part out to get back some of your money? Unless if u're some millionaire, something doesn't add up...

My car **** on me in Tx so after months of electrical work, problem solving with a few mechanics I decide to make it out debt free and with the ability to get a better car suited for my needs. I gave the car to the mechanic who was helping me so i could focus my energy on more important stuff. The car is not running and Is in Texas. Im just not putting any more energy into it. I give up. I started getting into debt and after a couple 1000 in debt I opted to give him the car and use the money towards something more practical, fun, that suits my needs more. I saw an opportunity to keep some money for a better car and get rid of this money pit. So I did not hesitate to take it.

Thank God this saga is finally over.

It never was a racecar, not even for a moment.

This car was a curse and im glad It is over.

4 door gti? not that I'm biased or anything... But I'd look at that or a wrx

I'm looking at turbo awd subaru wagons and forester XT Turbos, newer VWs, 04-08 TSX also keeping my options open also Lexus

See above. You are right tho I would like a different platform preferably AWD. I'm not really going to do anything extreme.with the car. I'm done putting energy into my accord. I want a fresh start and a car with little needed mods to make it fun. Probably do suspension and "stance" stuff but no hellaflush. I like camrys also. I've also loved VIP style for along time

I will definitely be around. My next car will have mostly show mods and a shiney paint job.

Damn, you just gave the car away?? lol good thing I didn't donate my money to that after the storm damage

If you want something more "refined," an evo or sti would not be one of the cars that fit that description imo

Goodbye and farewell for now...

You should just get a gs300/350 if you want awd, a refined ride, and tons of space. Plus that's a great VIP platform. If they're in your budget. Awd is only 2006+

I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a fresh start and clean slate.

Well yeah i appreciated all the support i got from 6ga. It changed my life and view about life. Evo is a no go but I know a lot of people who enjoy their Subarus. AWD, wagon, space, fun. Subaru WRX wagon and a TSX and forester turbo are definitely at the top of my list along with a few others like Jettas.

Sorry Matt, something just doesn't add up. You could have at least sold the car and bought something for your kid. Throwing away a car that was easily worth at least 2 or 3g's seems a little outlandish to me.

However, it is your car and you are free to make your own choices. Hopefully you will continue to be a helpful member of the community :)

I don't think you'll be happy with a TSX, Matt. I've heard they're not very fast. Might still be fun to drive though, I dunno.

If I was looking for all the things you're looking for (refinement, power, space, fun) it'd be a 4.5G TL-SH 6MT. That might not fit the budget though. And I'm not sure I see you in one...VW seems to be your thing. You've been talking about them forever, lol.

We gave without regard to what he would do with the car at the time or later on, no one expected anything in return. That's all I'll say since this discussion has already taken place, lol.

totally agreed

even with $1k, tht's still a lot of money tht could go towards your family. it's not like the economy is in the best condition at the moment...

and how much have u actually invested into the car? :eh: a part out would have helped u recoup some of your losses

but it's your car and money, so why do i care? :lawl:
