I will almost guarantee that the issue is the ignition switch. My car is on switch number three. Try it out its only 30 bux, assuming you know how to use a screwdriver.

How has your car been holding up ever since replacing the ignition switch?

I don't know...When I use to live in Vegas, my car shut off on me while I was idling at a stop light. Didn't crank over for a day or so. Then it started working. Bought a new OEM relay (not those cheap eBay aftermarket relays) and problem went away. Remember, this was a year ago and it was 105+ outside. Might be your relay.

Ya, I wanna second that

1) If your car shuts off while ur driving, it is probably the ignition switch

2) If it doesn't start in hot weather, it is probably the main relay.

They're both doable DIYs

wow! thank you guys of 6th gen for this thread... my car's been randomly shutting off while driving... guages and everything just turn off then the little car display lights up with all the doors and trunk and then I throw it in neutral and turn the car off while rolling and then turn it back into the on position and put it in gear and Im good to go... it just sux when I come to stops because it cranks over jumps up in rpms and just dies... it doesnt idle or anything I have to wait for it to jump up in rpms and give it some gas and it's fine again... I had a check engine light for the tps and I fixed that and no check engine light so it's possible I need a new ignition switch! :D Im going to get me one friday probably! :D thanx guys!

or wait would it be? I have the h22a4 in my car so do you think the 5th gen ludes had the same issue? eh I'll give it a try it's only 30 bucks or so...

UPDATE: I replaced the ignition switch last Wednesday and the car has been driving like butter ever since. (50 mile commutes just about everyday). So I'm crossing my fingers that this holds up. Thanks everyone for the input, it was greatly appreciated.
