I bought a 5000k HID kit from HIDextra last year and I just bought 6000k HID bulbs from the same company. I want to know if I can use the same ballasts that I currently have. Are the ballasts the same no matter what bulb rating? I know that the ballasts that HIDextra sells are only 35 watt. I've done some research on this topic and I've got mixed answers.

yes you can. 35watt is less brighter than 55watt. nothing will hapen if you swap them around

Yeah. That's what I was thinking. Cause when I called the company they said that I need to change the ballasts cause it will flicker. But if it's the same watt ballasts I don't see why not.

So there's no specific ballasts for 5000k HIDs or 6000k HIDs? Still the same ballasts for both ratings?
