Last night I saw my internals for the first time
My option right now is to do it like "1NonlyAccord"s build with an fmu.:inouteek:

So I made this thread to hopefully get help on my build and to help others who want to go turbo aswell. Ive already got some help from a few of the turbo guys on here,Im hopeing to get more advice as i go on. :peace:

-I just recently made a hole in the inside of the wastegate diaphragm by over tightening the vaccume screw! :eh:I repaired it with Ultra copper...do u guys think that will hold? btw im only gonna start with 5.8psi and the hole is tiny like 4mm wide...
so who has dibs on the first "dont use an fmu!" lol

Don't go FMU. Do it right and get a programmable ecu.

Also, just get a replacement diaphragm, if that fails then your boost will go through the roof and destroy your engine.

Please don't cheap out, you will regret it in the long run. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Definitely replace the diaphragm and please don't waste your money and time using an FMU. Go with a P28 and a good tune you won't regret it.

replace the diaphragm and loose the FMU. I'm sure as soon as 1Nonlyaccord see's this he'll tell you from his experience that its not worth it. I think I remember his exact words were "its no fun being slow and boosted."

... i dont know how to multiquote,
anyway if i dump the fmu does anyone in socal know of a good tuner by north hollywood? also would replacing the diaphragm be easy? i was thinking of testing it with a bike pump to see if the ultra copper holds well.

I'm sure there's someone in that area just ask around.

as for the diaphragm don't even waste the time testing it. if it fails you overboost. if you overboost you buy a new engine.

Check out tial's website they might have directions on how to replace parts. I know you can buy individual parts from them so I don't see why they wouldn't have directions on replacing things.
