Cleaning Coilovers

Herroo!

Theres been one or two little snow showers in my area so I figure today would be a good day to clean my car and coilovers..even though its a lil cloudy and 30% chance of rain.


My question is what should/can I use as a cleaning agent other then water, to clean my coilovers. I bought a "orange" degreaser to use on my interior and I figured I can use it on my coilovers too then just go back with some water.


Tips? Tricks? gracias.

wd40 for the grease, and carwash soap and water after...

i dont really clean it... its under the car so no1 ever really sees it

simple green if you have to... it should only be dirt down their, but if you blew a CV boot youll need a degreaser too.

just wait til you get a whole bunch of dirt and **** and salt on the threads...then youll wish you did clean them.


personally, i covered up my fronts, just so salt and stuff cant get stuck on and corrode them at all. ill uncover them in the spring tho. the rears are all the way down, haha, so theyre covering up themselves, haha.

I sometime use brake cleaner or WD40 to spray on the thread then I use a old toothbrush to clean it. If I have more time then I useally use white tape to tape the thread up so it won't get rusted. I did it on myy prelude n delso . It worrk grreat

damn, i just used the degreaser...i guess i shoud've used wd40. Well, we're suppose to get 5-10 inches within the next few days so i guess i'll be cleaning them again lol

honda silicone spray ftw.....for protection at least.

I have only cleaned springs off the car and found that either tire foam or wheel cleaner does the trick. Tire foam is easier but makes them look shiny which isn't the best when selling but probably a decent protectant for cali weather. I can't comment on anywhere with snow/salt.
