clutch blown

i did the 5speed swap about 4 month ago. i bought many wrong parts and my local junkward just did not do me any good. first of all i had the wrong flywheel bolts. also they gave me the wrong tranny bolts and i didnt have the rubber piece that goes on the tranny mount. so i put a crappy clutch and well i tried to go on like that not knowing that i had done everything wrong. im no daily driver and this is my first car and its a stick. so i had to learn how to drive stick with wrong parts. well in about a month my clutch was slipping badly. i dont know if it was me(probably)holding the clutch in to long.well i took it to a shop to get it all fixed. now i have a exedy clutch but already feel it slipping a little. and its brand new. so i looked up the thread 5spd swap by badger type. it said that i need to put some washers in between the pedal and the firewall. i also have a very long clutch fluid line. does that make a difference. i dont want to blow another clutch. also i think the clutch engages way to high. wat should i do?

Start with the washers and go from there. The cluch line is long.

I hope you didnt try and beat on the car after you had a new clutch put in.

yea for like the first 5 min i didnt beat on it persay. but i did go to redline.
after those 5 min my dad told me not to do that. so now i shift @ 2,000 rpm
okay ima put like 3 washers(a little over 1/4 inch)
my mechanic said the clutch line was the wrong length.
he did bleed the lines and everything but im not sure if the right amount of fluid is going to the clutch.

Take a picture of the clutch line...or..just go to www.tasauto.com - and look up the clutch line.

The length of the clutch line has nothing to do with the clutch slipping. Your slipping because you did not put the spacers in between the clutch pedal BRACKET. Go to ace and buy like 4 washers. You should only need a couple, but they go between the pedal bracket and the firewall.

yea i got the washers 2day. gonna install 2mmorrow
how much damage do u think i did to my clutch. only drove like 50 miles with the new exedy?
with the spacers would the cluctch engage sooner?

Your clutch will not fully engauge without the spacers. Thats probably why your first clutch went so fast.

The clutch line is fine. Exactly what mine and everyone else with a 5spd looks like.
