first time i hear that but then again they did make their own tranny fluid. its a monopoly i tell ya

The only fluids that are required honda is the ATF and Power steering fluid. The other stuff is just recommended.

I just use oem coolant, its cool cause its blue and its oem so I just have that instant piece of mind and don't have to spend countless hours doing research to validate myself in an attempt so save a few bucks.

That Service news is 15 years old, literally.


Honda can use any ethylene glycol coolant, (Green, blue etc). It CAN NOT run propylene glycol, (Dexcool, VW gold, etc). It will mix and create a sludge inside your cooling jackets and wreck the engine.
