Nice job making them yourself, what processes/materials did you use? I assume you took off the factory face and that’s why you had to remove the needles. Otherwise not much light would get through.

BTW the red needle come from a 2000 coupe speedometer I beleive, my original 98s were amber.

Red needles are only on 01-02. And I thought needles weren’t swappable between 98-00 and 01-02? Do the 01-02 attach the same way?

it's a 4 layer process

-top layer transparency
-2nd layer plain white paper
-3rd layer transparency
-4th layer transparency

the 4th layer is optional only required if youy want to deepen then color of the lettering.

I have a DIY that I pulled from revlimiter.com, it's for a Miata but it's the same principals. However the link doesn't seem to work anymore. I had copied it in a Word document, the formating is not so good, but all the info is there. I can link it anyone is interested.

I also have to play around with a lighter gauge paper, maybe thinner would let more light shine trough.

Correct, at first I was going to use my standard amber needles and not bother with dismanteling 2 clusters BUT I NEEDED the red needles to match the ret so I took a big breath and removed them.

well if they weren't swappable no-one told me and they attached the same way and everything works so...

How did you get the needles off..

pried them with my fingers, they are much easier to pull off then you would think.

Well done on doing this yourself. Looks quite nice, but a little too.. retro? for me. I think its the lines next to the numbers that don't appeal a lot to me, but nonetheless, looks good.

In for night pics/video though

Looks great for a DIY.
I am going to have to agree with Knox on this one. A little closer to the first apple computers.

Whatever floats your boat. Just a little boxy for me.

Nice job though

It looks alright to me. Not a fan of the H22 in the rpm gauge, but it's whatever you like to do.

By the way, did you receive the armrest.
