Dash E-Brake Light Comes On When I Start Car

Sometimes when I start my car the E-Brake light comes and then when I drive it shuts off. I am not sure what it could be. I am told it could be the brake fluid which I am going to check tomorrow.

Is your emergency brake on?
I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure that's one of the lights that always comes on with ignition.

Otherwise, it could be that your brake cables need to be tightened.

the e-brake cable needs tightened? it stays on after tightened and its not always just once in a while like in the morning after sitting all night

Are you auto or manual?

The cables on my old Accord (auto) needed tightened as my light was coming on just as yours is. I hardly ever used the e-brake but they still needed tightening. Tightened them and it went away.

Shooting in the dark but it could be a wheel sensor, too.

That I'm not sure of, lol. If it's not done at the wheels, it's done at the handle.

You tighten it by taking the console apart, and adjusting it. I imagine that's in the Haynes manual.

Put some dot3 brake fluid. Top it off. Had the same exact problem.
