I swapped to a '02 CL Type-S ECU, but I never went to the dealer for anything. Guessing my mechanic knew to what to do to make my key work with the new ECU. I'll see if I can get an answer from him as to how he did it.

Probably de soldered the chip and soldered it in the new one.

I was wondering if that would work but I haven't found anyone with a 6th gen who's done it that way and I also read in another forum that someone tried that with an acura...I think...I'm not really sure what car but it was a Honda product....they tried swapping chips and it didn't work...

I just got my ECU reprogrammed two weeks ago for $107 without tax. A tip is too keep on calling dealerships at different times and when you hear a price you like take the name of the person you talked to so you can insure the price. I got quoted $180 initially, but I eventually got a $107 quote so I had it done.
