Here is my version. Had this set up for a few years now, never had any problems with water because the tube is vertical and the space from bottom of air box to the k&n filter.

Well in my opinion, best set up FOR ME. I have owned my Honda Accord for almost 12 years now so I have tried just about everything on the market including the stupid "cheese grader" looking thing on the lower grill 5 years ago.

The reason I like this set up because at WOT you can feel the car come on the freeway on ramp smooth and continously gaining speed without a hick up point (you know what I mean if you own a 4cyl). Also I like the fact that the noise is very nice and at a reasonable level.

Pretty easy DYI overall. Just time consuming measuring the tubing and adjust the angle so it sit perfectly without bouncing around.

I really like yours, can you put it back to stock without a problem? cause I live in Colorado so.. that would be important for me haha.

takes literally less than 5 minutes to remove the snorkle. you dont need to put the resonator back (lower air box) in order to pass smog/visual inspection.

Just pull the rubber tube connecting the airbox to the throttle bottle off without removing off from the throttle body. The whole box comes out and then remove one clamp with take the part where the snorkle is clamp to the air box. DONE !

I was gonna see if this works for the V6 accord and it kinda does except for the part where the resinator is different and there is no tube to pull off of it. Haha.
so I think I'm gonna get some PVC and call it good.

Sounds good though.

be like it is
re-took and re-uploaded the pics of mine. had it for over 3 years now, no issues.

stock 4cyl airbox, smoothed ridges, K&N drop-in panel filter. used a dremel with cutoff wheel.

its pretty loud and doesn't lose torque like an SRI. i know this because i used to have an AEM so i compared these back-to-back.

big hole cut in the bottom

not quite, there is no tube to pull off its just a little rubber thing like 2 or 3 inches long. But I pulled the resinator off and left the little rubber thing on (I tried it with it off and on) it sounds really good, especially with the rubber thing on there believe it or not it makes a difference. However, I havn't yet removed the ridges from the box or got a better filter (I have like a 5 dollar filter in the box lol, yay paper).

Well my D.I.Y resonator removal has been completed whilst the wife was out spending my monies!!:leeann:

Anyways I went to collect her from the mall.... her words were
"Whats wrong with your car??"
I say "nothings wrong with it..."
She announces "it sounds really angry like it wants to eat the car in front of us"

LOL!! I so wish I had taken a video of her first impressions of it!

So anyways pic of weird resonator thingy hanging off intake tube.....

DSC00309.jpg

Leave that thingy on there, The v6 has one too. You can take it off and try to cover the hole but it just makes a wierd buzzing sound no matter what you try to cover it with lol.

I smashed up my front bumper and in the process, destroyed most of the resonator. I'm looking to replace my bumper but am considering this mod for fixing my intake, rather than buying OEM or replacing it with aftermarket. Has anyone used this mod under similar circumstances or are you guys just all in this for fun? Haha.

I've been seeing AEM intakes on here from 6GA members for like $150. I'm not worried about spending that on an intake. Would you STILL recommend the DIY in this case?
