DIY: Reverse Polarization

Sorry ppl but i have searched and found ppl having done reverse polarization on their cars and lots of info on led guages but no DIY on how to reverse polarity... i want to do this on my odometer but im not gonna tear into something without tha slightest idea of what im doing..... so can anyone link or post up a DIY on how this can be done? Thanx

do your clock first. at least if you break the glass on that you can replace it without anything being off. if you break the odometer glass, youre SOL and you need a new gauge cluster...and your mileage will be off. especially since you have a 98, its not as easy to get to the odo glass as the 01-02's. ive done two of them, and three clocks, and even my sony headunit, haha. you just have to be careful, but you have no experience doing this, so i would def say you do the clock first, so you can figure out the basics of it.

This thread should get you to where you need as far as disassembling the clock

The glass piece has a polarizing lens glued to each side of it. carefully peel one or both sides, you'll have to remove the excess adhesive with a paint scraper or box cutter blade. once your glass piece is clear again line up your one or two new lenses so they block out the most light. reassemble.

I tried to peel the original film off the lens but couldnt even see where it was. What tools did you guys use?

Also, where can we buy that polarizing film?

the film will have a small black frame around it and it's glued on tight to the glass. it's hard to see because it's a lens. http://www.3dlens.com sells polarizing lenses.

i used a razor to slowly scrape the film off.

basically. make sure you rotate the new film to block out as much light as possible
