It appears that my h22a is not only JDM but is a 96 and OBD1 since it has green tipped injectors so I will need to add some high wattage resistors inline with the injectors. It also looks like the crank position sensor is in the distributor on the OBD1 block so I will have to re-route the wires from the crank position sensor to the distributor to make it work.

Ok so I got the H22 in but I have a few problems. My idle is ok when the engine is cold but idle hunts like crazy between 1k to 2.5k when warm. I read in the swap link posted in this thread previously that they also had an idle problem? My other problem is that I am still using my accord ecu so my redline is low, I have installed a vafc but haven't bothered to tune it until I get the idle fixed. Also it likes to ping with moderate to heavy acceleration but I still have regular gas in the tank so I will try premium for the next tank. But I really need help with the idle. The car doesn't seam to be running lean or rich.

First off, you cant use the accord ecu. It simply wont run right and you will probably blow the motor with it. That would be the first thing I'd fix. You need a p13/p28/ or p72. As for the idle, Id first look for vacuum leaks, then Id take the fast idle control valve apart and fix that. It is most likely the reason your idle is hunting when warm.

No vaccum leaks, I know I can't use the accord ecu but the prelude ecu I was going to get fell through, and this is my daily driver so I had to get ti up and running asap. What do I do to the fast idle valve to fix it? Sorry if they are noob questions but I have to get this running right asap.

You have to take it off the throttle body and repair it. If you take off the intake hose from the throttle body and have the engine running, you can then start plugging holes in the throttle body with your finger to see if the idle settles down. Then you'll know that it truly is the FICV.

So can I just plug the FICV permanently? I don't remeber my F23A1 having one. How do you repair a FICV if it is broken? What typically goes bad?

Its a screw type system, so all you really have to do is take it apart and screw it back together.
