Once the tabs on the rear bumper are broken, there is no way to fix that, is there?

The ones near the rear quarter panel, I am referring to.

Sucks about the damage, but at least it's getting taken care of.

The bumper is held up by 3 clips on each side (white clips that keep it levelled so it does not sag, about 5-6 pushtabs, and 2 screw. If the clips break you can buy them. If the tab where the screw(s) goes through breaks you can simply glue it back together. JB Weld(Stik) does wonders at re-creating things.

i don't think they can be.

Come onnnnnnnn. 1st you hurt the s13 now the CG :furious:
hey now this one wasn't my fault by any means. :chucklesfawk:

the clips that are on the car are still intact its the part of the bumper that clips into them that are broke. $280 is the estimate they gave me. thats for a new bumper and to realign everything. I'm buying red clears right now so even if the one light is broken that won't be an issue. only thing I'm not sure about is the dent in the trunk since I don't see anything about that in the estimate. hopefully they can bondo it and resprey the trunk cause then my m3 style wing will finally be painted, I'm supposed to drop it off next monday so I'll talk to him about it then.

Wrong tab, a better location description would be it's the one where the bumper curves up at the site of the tail light. The clip where the bumper meets the rear quarter panel at the side of the tail light. I should post a pic for reference.

Does $280 include new OEM bumper, repaint, (hopefully) fixing the trunk dent?
Understandably this is possibly a co-worker and you do not want to take them for all they got...but at the same time I wouldnt settle with sub-par parts.

thats with a $130 aftermarket bumper. and huge discounts in labor. the kid sweeps our shop. he only makes around $300 a week and is $1500 in debt to the shop for a previous accident. I have to pay for the repairs out of pocket as is since he can only afford to give me $50 a week and I'm not waiting two months to get my car fixed. I would prefer OEM parts but in a few weeks the kid will no longer have a place to live since his brother is moving to alabama, I just don't have the heart to make him pay for an oem bumper, the body shop thats doing the work did a full restoration and repair on my bosses excursion after a tree fell on it. they literally cut the whole rear of the truck off and welded the rear of a different one on. after that they installed bumpers that look like they belong on a tank that had to be custom fit. the paint on it is better then every "restored" classic car that we get from a local hot rod shop for alignments and ac work. they also do any body work that is needed on customers cars and I've seen nothing but good work. I know the guy doing the work and he knows its my car, he assured me that when he was done I would never be able to tell the car was hit there. He was also nice enough to knock the regular estimate down from the almost $700 that he would charge me if I was just a regular customer. if it isn't perfect when its done you best believe I will not let the car leave till it is. I got ****ed the last time my car was hit by someone I know and I won't let it happen again, I also have a soul so I can't milk the kid for every dime he's got. Plus when it all boils down to it he hit the car because the throttle cable on the 4wheeler was stuck holding the throttle at wot. yes he should have noticed when he started it that it was idling way to high and that he shouldn't put it in to gear. but as many times as I've moved that thing i can't say I've ever started it and then waited before putting it in gear. so it could have been anyone moving it who hit the car instead him.

Sorry this happened to you. I don't care how pitiful or nice the kid is.. He's a f*cking dumbass which is why he got himself into this sh*t in the first place. I wouldn't rape him for every penny, but I wouldn't give him any slack either - make him pay for what it's worth. If I do something, I pay, I am responsible - that's being an adult. Luckily I don't get myself in these predicaments so I don't have to pay and be in debt to others for dumb sh*t.

like I said it wasn't entirely his fault. if he had been riding it around and hit it, it would be different. all he did was start it up where it was parked which was about 5 feet behind my car and put it in gear, after it hit the car it continued to accelerate uncontrollably amd in the 5 seconds it took him to cut it off it had dug both rear wheels completely down to the point that the frame was sitting on the ground. he's not getting any slack by any means, the body guy said he can make it perfect with an aftermarket bumper and I trust his expertise. the only real problem with aftermarket body parts is fitment which will be his problem not mine. I told him if i could tell it had been hit or that the bumper wasnt' quite perfect I wasn't paying for it and he assured me it would be better then before.
