Door wont open

so i shut my door last night and went to get out at my girlfriends house and the door would not open. i looked at it this morning and got the panel off enough to look inside and the rod is connected. the door is acting like its locked when its not. neither handle will open the door btw. help me please.

is the door unlocked? did you pull up on the knob for the lock?

well here is what i decide to do. i went to a body shop and told them the problem. apparently my body shop and i assume others will too can get a kit for our cars. its going to cost $90 but it comes with the latch assembly, drill bit, and directions on where to drill the old assembly so the door will open to install the new latch. so hopefully next week the problem will be fixed.
