With the second lense you are holding, how does the zoom affect the photo? Should that be set the highest mm or lowest or right in the middle? Or do you have to just change it around and see how it works?

Everything is opposite w/zoom lenses when reverse mounted. ie 18mm will have the closest magnification, while 55mm will be further out.
