IMO, that dyno was cheap because for one. It was outside and muggy and humid, and there was no fan in front of the engine to simulate highway speeds. I've seen automatics do way better than that.

they didnt make it cheap because of the weather conditions. It was cheaper because it was on a trailer and it was only 2 runs. And yeah there wasnt any fan so it was cheaper too.

at the crank...

at the wheels and at the crank are very different. On a motor that old, I'd say you lost 30hp through the drivetrain (torque converter in the auto).

I wonder what kind of numbers a stock 5spd puts down... makes me want to dyno my car...

I understand that, but I don't think its adequate to lose 41hp to the wheel from the crank, even with an automatic. Ohwell, I am glad im 5 speed now. I'd say we are probably around 130whp with a 5 speed, stock.

Well, I said 30 because he's at 131xxx miles or whatever, I don't think it spits out 150 at it's age.

20% is a good estimate of how much power you lose through a slushbox, it should be less than 5% with a 5spd, I would think.

I agree, 130 to the wheels sounds reasonable.

Today i dynoed my car at a local race track.
2 pulls for $40 bucks not bad.
1st and 2nd run were identical.

1st run: Max Power=109.82whp & Max Torque=112.21lbs

2nd run: Max Power=109.82whp & Max Torque=112.21lbs

The guy how ran the car told me; "this is the quietest car that ive ever dyno but not the slowest." ;)

People kept asking me what i have done to it i said it was completely stock.
Im just try to get some figures on where does my car stand. For what my car is im pretty happy to be honest. I dont care what other people think, for a car that has 138,xxx miles it did good. It needed an oil change but its ok.
SOHC FTW!!!!!

actually yea, i agree with you. that's pretty good for a 131xxx mile car!

hm.. i was hoping autos had 120 hp to the wheels. :ughrun:

i got 115hp back then on the f23, w/ AEM cai and greddy evo2 and other small things @ 80k. that just further confirms how nasty the autotragic is. :(

Didn't even to need to look at your sig in order to tell that you're a V6 owner.

Look here.

That's something to compare too, I was close with the HP rating. What answers another question about a 5 speed, is the torque ratings are pretty nice at 137lbs stock. And sonnick "156.9whp and 145wtq with i/h/e, stage 1 clutch/fidanza flywheel, and a catalytic emissions CEL" is pretty impresive as as well. BOTH DYNOS were done with the low emission vtec as well.
